Trenston Help

Common questions about plans, integrations, access, and how to use Trenston.

Can I use Trenston from Claude or another AI assistant?

Yes, on every paid plan (Starter, Growth and Business). In Claude, add a custom connector with the URL https://trenston-mcp.onrender.com/mcp, sign in to Trenston, and approve read-only access. The assistant can then answer questions from your briefing, decisions, tasks, your assigned work and, if you have Financials access, your financial summary. It can never change anything in Trenston.

Is my data safe if I connect an AI assistant?

The connection is read-only and sees exactly what you can see in Trenston, in one workspace. Disconnect it any time in Settings under API keys, and it stops working on the next request. When you ask the assistant a question, it receives the data it read for that answer, and that provider's terms apply.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free is $0 and includes up to 3 Trenston users, 5 AI document extracts to try it (then upgrade), Ask Trenston (10 messages/month), AI briefing, Dashboard & decisions, and Google (Calendar & Drive). Integrations (QuickBooks, Xero, Slack) start on Starter.

What are the paid plans and is there a free trial?

Starter is $15/mo (up to 7 users), Growth is $39/mo (up to 20), and Business is $99/mo (up to 35). Each paid plan includes a 7-day free trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged. Billing runs through Paddle.

What integrations are included on each plan?

Google (Calendar & Drive) is available on every plan, including Free. Starter adds QuickBooks, Xero, and Slack webhook alerts. Growth and Business also add SAP Business One and HubSpot. Connect only what helps. Manual entry stays available everywhere else.

Can my leadership team use Trenston?

Yes. Free supports up to 3 Trenston users, Starter up to 7, Growth up to 20, and Business up to 35, with role-based access packs. Trenston users are product logins, separate from your company's total employee headcount. A lean manufacturing company with serious revenue might only need a handful of users.

Do I need QuickBooks, SAP Business One, or Google Calendar to get started?

No. Trenston works with manual entry everywhere an integration is not connected. Connect tools when they help; nothing requires them to get value from Briefing, Decisions, or department queues.

Why can I not see Financials or Metrics?

Those screens are restricted on purpose. Owners always have them. Finance packs can open Financials, and some packs (such as Executive or Operations) can open Metrics. Everyone else only sees them if an owner grants that section in Team & Access. If a screen is missing, ask your owner for access rather than assuming Trenston is broken.

What is the difference between Ask Trenston and Decisions?

Ask Trenston answers a question you type right now from your live company data (subject to plan message limits: Free 10/month, Starter 100, Growth 200, Business 500). Decisions is the queue of calls that already need approval or judgment. Use Ask Trenston for a specific question; use Decisions when something is waiting on a yes, no, or owner.

Who can see the notes I write on Home?

Private sticky notes on Home are only visible to you. They are stored per user and are not shown to teammates or the owner. The optional team update is different: if you post one, it is shared with the team. Tasks you create or are assigned to follow normal task visibility for people who can see that work.
